Veteran Roof Giveaway: QXO for Veterans
Many veterans and their families live under roofs that are worn out or leaking, and replacing a roof is one of the biggest expenses a homeowner faces. Recognizing this need, Beacon, one of the largest distributors of roofing materials and building supplies in North America, launched the Beacon of Hope program. Beacon is now part of QXO, the building-products distributor that bought it, and the program is now called QXO for Veterans. It provides much-needed support to veterans who need a new roof.
What is QXO for Veterans?
QXO for Veterans, formerly Beacon of Hope, helps veterans and the organizations that serve them by providing a free roof replacement to selected recipients. Through the program, a new roof is installed on the home of each selected recipient, so they can protect their homes and families without the overwhelming burden of the cost.
Why Is This Program Important?
The roof is a home’s first line of defense against the elements, and on the Texas coast it takes a beating from sun, salt air, and storms. Unfortunately, many homeowners find themselves underinsured or without the financial means to make necessary repairs. This is where QXO for Veterans steps in, offering a lifeline to veterans in need.
For many families, the cost of replacing or repairing a damaged roof can be prohibitive, leading to long-term issues such as water damage, mold growth, and decreased property value. The program not only relieves these concerns by providing a new roof but also helps preserve the safety and well-being of the veterans and families who receive it.
How Does the Program Work?
QXO has not opened nominations for the next round yet. When it does, QXO reviews the nominations, and a panel of judges selects the recipients; RISE Roofing does not choose the winners. QXO sets the eligibility rules for each round, so read them on its nomination page before you apply. Each winning roof is installed by a local roofing contractor.
What RISE Roofing does is share the program link with our Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend neighbors when a round opens. If you are nominating a veteran, we can also inspect the roof for free and give you photos and a written summary of its condition to include with the nomination.

The program picks a small number of recipients once a year, so it can’t help with a leak that’s happening now; if a roof needs work sooner, start with a free inspection so you know what it needs.

A strong nomination is specific. Before you submit one, gather a short description of the veteran's service, how long the family has lived in the home, and why the roof needs replacing. Clear photos of the roof, any ceiling stains and storm damage help the program understand the need.
