High-tensile steel sheets (26-gauge; Shingle XD is 28-gauge) engineered to ASTM A 792 standards. The backbone of every DECRA panel — provides structural rigidity and the flexibility needed for installation.
Hot-dip galvalume coating (55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, 1.6% silicon) applied to both sides of the steel. Provides better corrosion resistance than standard galvanized coatings.
A silicon treatment that enhances the bond between the alloy coating and subsequent layers. Also adds flexibility, preventing layer separation during panel forming and installation.
Advanced acrylic resin primer applied to create the optimal bonding surface for the basecoat. Also provides additional corrosion protection and UV weathering resistance.
The adhesion layer that bonds the stone granules to the steel substrate. This proprietary acrylic formula is built to keep the granules bonded — even in Texas heat and UV conditions — though minor granule loss over time is normal.

Labor and materials are covered for the first 20 years, then materials only on a prorated basis. The warranty can be transferred once to a new owner within the first 20 years after installation. DECRA's ICC-ES code report allows DECRA panels to be installed over a single layer of sound asphalt shingles where local codes allow, but Corpus Christi and the surrounding coastal counties are in the Texas windstorm (TWIA) designated catastrophe area. There, RISE Roofing does not install over existing shingles — we always tear off the old roof before installing DECRA, which also lets us inspect the deck and install new underlayment.
